4 Front Cover Analysis
For this task I will choose four front cover magazines and explain some things I like about it, I will also write a short summary of why these front covers could appeal to my target audience.
Reasons why I like this front cover magazine:
1. I like the bright bubble gum pink background it makes the front cover pop and attractive, it also fades into a white colour around the model which I like because it draws my attention to the model.
2. I like the models use of costume and body posture, it is very sexy and stylish, including the model's hair and makeup, it suits and fits into the bright pink background. She is also holding a camera that is placed directly at the camera making it look like she is taking a picture, you can see the flash going off making it look like it is coming out of the picture and eye popping, by having the flash looking 3D it makes it more realistic that she is taking a real photo.
3. I like the use of colours. It is not filled with different colours everywhere but only, pink, white, and black. It is very simple colours but eye catching and pretty.
4. I like how the text are positioned in the magazine, it is short and sharp; It is also slightly tilted making it look more funky and fun. They also have a few stars surrounding them making it look girly and appealing.

- This would be a good front cover magazine to take some ideas from seeing as it fits into some of the research I have done from what my target audience would like to see in an RnB magazine.
Reasons why I like this front cover magazine:
1. I like the how model's make-up makes her look unusual almost making her appear to look like a puppet or doll, I think it is very unique and creative. I also like how the text in the bottom right says 'unzipped' which reflects on the model's costume that has zips around her body.
2. I like overall her costume and makeup it is very creative giving it a unrealistic and abnormal look, which is eye catching because it is different from other front cover magazines.
3. I like how the background and text look like pastel colours. The colours look like the make-up used for her face making both model blend in with the background.
4. I like how the text surrounds the model because it gives a type of illusion. There are also three basic colours blue, yellow, white, and black. It works together nicely giving it a pattern effect.

- This front cover has inspired me to ensure when doing my front cover magazine that I will be creative and unique to the best of my ability. My target audience would like to see new and different things. I will make sure my magazine will not look like a typical magazine but still contain the things needed in a music magazine.
Reasons why I like this front cover magazine:
1. I like how the background is plain white making the model appear fuller and bigger. It makes him look more superior and masculine. The use of props such as, cigarette and gold chains also make the model look more fierce and cool.
2. I like how each text has a different font. It makes the magazine look like groovy and funky.
3. I like how each text has a different information, it entices me to buy the magazine and know what the magazine is about.

Short Biography Interview
Short & Exclusive interview with brand new upcoming artist ‘Mimi Star’.
Mylin Birt (born December 5, 1990) known by her stage name Mimi Star is a British rapper/singer, and song writer. She was originally born in queens, New York, but moved to London when she was 9. She started rapping at the age of 7; she performed in all the school talent shows, club events and charity events, but at age 9 is when her life changed dramatically as her parents had made a decision to move to London. Although Mimi was not fond of the idea, she then began to settle in and discovered rap battle events occurring around south London, an event for young teenagers to show off their skills and talent. At age 14 she had her first performance which had made her popularity increase in seconds, mainly known as the first American rapper to mix American hip-hop and UK grime together. Also being one of the youngest to perform and get such a massive recognition, by then Mimi was considered one of the best female underground mc in London borough.
Q. How did you get your stage name?
Response - “Well my name is Mylin and my friends back home, back in America called me
Mimi for short, and like my family, and my mom especially.
And the last name, star, it was when I was performing…..it was the first time I
performed in London actually,
when I was 14 the rap battle event, and before I went on stage I didn't have a stage name,
it was just my name, Mylin, so then after I performed and the whole crowd
went wild and started cheering. That was a special moment for me…… at that
moment I felt like such a superstar you know *Laughs* and so yeah,
hat’s when I thought of Mimi Star."
Q. What made you decide to do the music you do today?
Response - “Well back in America I listened to a lot of hip-hop, you know like,
biggie smalls, tupac, eazy e, tlc, you know stuff like that. And coming to the UK I started
to see a different side of rap; it was really up beat and almost
electro, kind of. What I really liked about it was the beat and the rhythm;
it creates such a strong atmosphere and energy.
And watching British performers inspired me to do something different, something
a little more creative. And that’s when I started to mix both
American and UK rap together, and people love it.
Q. How was it like coming to London?
“When I first found out that I was going to live in London, I wasn't so happy; I mean
having to leave your friends and make new ones is something I wasn't looking forward to.
I also imagined London being very different, but obviously when I got here it wasn't how I pictured it.
The neighborhood I was staying looked a lot like my home back in America, I mean a lot.
And as I started to settle in, I notice everyone was very nice *pause* sometimes…*giggles*….not all of the
people, just some. But you know I do like it here, couldn't imagine myself in a million years
living here in London,… but now I’m here and its made my life better.”
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
“I hope to see myself with a family by then, yeah I've always wanted to get married
and have a family before I turn 30. But I mean I guess you can’t force the lifestyle
you want to live in, it takes patience. But right now I’m not focusing on that,
I’m focusing in the present, there’s so much happening in my life right now so
marriage is the last thing on my mind right now.”
Q. Who would you say are your fan base?
“Well I mean I get a lot of love and support from people all over the world, like Ireland, America,
you know, but my biggest fan base would probably be right here in the UK, I mean what
can I say….they love me. Haha but I mean when my mixtape ‘Getting it’ dropped
I got a lot of recognition in the US, and it feels so good knowing that I was originally
born and raised for a part time of my life in America makes me so proud of myself and
what all I've accomplished. but now I’m working on an album with ‘money splash’ records,
and hopefully at the end of the year, you’ll get to hear my first official album.”

Poses & Costume
Poses
These are some poses you’d usually see on a front cover of an RnB magazine. Most images are a close up or mid shot which inspired me do to with my front cover. They have a very stern posture and strong fierce look. Some may do a pose such as, place their hand on their chin, or fold their arms, this connotes that they are tough and dominant.
Fashion
Fashion is significant in an RnB magazine as most RnB artists are known for their high fashion. They have very similar fashion sense which interests the younger audience. A few examples which some artists may share are, glasses, trainers, ripped jeans, and bandanas etc.
